Ray "Skip" Adams, Ret. CPD, 79 YOA., 014, 015, MTU, MAIU, passed away Saturday, 13 Apr, after a short battle with a medical issue. More info on services will be published when available.

Quentin "Troy" Crabtree (Crabby), 58, of Hoffman Estates, formerly of Harvard, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 11, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1965, in Harvard IL, to Robert Crabtree and Betty (Crabtree) Nolen. Quentin honorably served as a member of the Cook County Forest Preserve Police Department for 31 years. During his service he acquired many accolades and achievements. He was certified in boating, ATV use, snowmobile safety, and he was a Ground Search and Rescue instructor. He repaired and rebuilt squad cars, police bikes, trailers, and boats. He designed and arranged the evidence room among many other things. He had several hobbies and interests. He was a historian and researched his genealogy. He loved to read, draw, and was an avid bird watcher. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and golf. He loved traveling, family weekends at the lake, and spending time with family and friends; often taking charge of the grill or preparing his popular shrimp boil. Other cherished times were his annual fishing trips with his police buddies. He was most proud of his three children and spoke of their achievements whenever given the opportunity. He is survived by his loving partner, Kathy "Kat" Mize, his children Nolen Crabtree (Allie Queen), Remy (Casey Murray) Crabtree, and Abigail Crabtree (Ben Strauss), sister Eugenia (David) Sunden. He is also survived by his former wife Laura Healy (Sanchez) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Betty (Crabtree) Nolen and Robert Crabtree, his aunts and uncles: Barbara Baldwin, Kathern Nolen, John (Bubby) Nolen, Donald (Frog) Nolen, and Danny Lester. A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM memorial service at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street, Harvard IL 60033. Graveside service will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard.
