Robert (Bob) Benker Passed away peacefully, April 1, 2024, at 94 years old. Survived by brother Dennis (Flora) Benker, and his sister-in-law’s Anna and Virginia and dear friend, business partner, Peter Nielsen and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Frances, sister Gloria, and his brothers Michael and Arthur. Attended Northwestern University, Korean War veteran, Chief of Civil Defense Fire for Chicago (volunteers that supported emergency duties), and he helped fight the 1958 Lady of Angels Fire. Co-founded, Able Fire and Safety, evolved into Paratech, Inc. largest manufacturer of forcible entry tools, pneumatic air-lifting bags, and more; built P-10 crash trucks for the U.S. Air Force. Bob was the first person in Chicago history to dye the Chicago River green, at the request of Mayor Richard J. Daley and Fire Commissioner Quinn. Bob was known for his summer picnics in Camp Lake, Wisconsin (a.k.a. The Country). Bob welcomed family and friends to enjoy his homes in Wisconsin and Naples, FL. Bob was a dedicated son, taking care of his mother, Frances, until she passed away at 99 years old. Bob was an avid Cubs and Blackhawk fan and enjoyed telling fire and business stories. Bob always had a very strong faith; he was the unofficial “Mayor of Nazarethville” nursing home where he enjoyed living with his many friends. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 13th, at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 432 W. Park Street, Arlington Heights, IL 12:00 visitation, with a 1:30pm funeral mass. Delbert John Burns Jr., 94, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Cary, Illinois. He was born on February 3, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. Delbert worked for the Chicago Police Department. He served in the United States Army.

Andrew John "Drew" Faught passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, April 8, 2024, at the age of 27 as a result of an automobile accident while serving as a member of the IL Dept. of Corrections T.R.T. team. Andrew was born in Joliet on February 22, 1997, to Timothy Faught and Linda Melby. He was raised in Morris and was a graduate of Morris Community High School with the Class of 2014. Drew loved sports, especially his time playing football with the Morris Chiefs, and the Morris Redskins football and wrestling teams. He also enjoyed weightlifting. But the most important thing to Drew was family. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. Drew has been an officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections for the past 6 years, first serving at the Pontiac Correctional Center, then being promoted to Sgt., and most recently serving as a member of the Tactical Response Team. He was known for being hardworking and committed to serving his community and coworkers. Drew is survived by his parents, Linda and Eric Melby, and Timothy and Gina Faught; his siblings, Ashley (Michael) Schanks, Aryk Senisais, Patrick (Alex Birsa) Melby, Debra (Nick Serafinn) Faught, Cassidy Roberts, Katie Clancy, Aaron Melby, and Savannah (Sofia Rodriguez) Melby; his grandfathers, Esteban Senisais and Jon Melby; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many good friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Martha Senisais, Betty Faught, and Jeannie Male; Sister, Ashleigh Elizabeth Faught in infancy; uncle, Ricardo Senisais and aunt, Debra Ann Senisais. Visitation for Drew Faught will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W.
