James T. Georgalas of Chicago, age 101. Retired Sgt. Chicago PD. U.S. Army Veteran WWII. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor, nee Trella; loving father of Jim (Karen), Ted (Peggy) and Irene (late Michael) James; proud grandfather of Nick (Emily), Mike (Sarah), Daniel (Vivian) and Jimmy (Mary Kate); great-grandfather of Nora, Evelyn, Andi, Amelia, Leo, Ava and Henry; dear brother of the late Andrew (late Elsa) Georgalas; fond uncle of many. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All to meet Thursday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central, Chicago for a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service. Michael D. Hundrieser, 79, of Chicago IL, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. Michael served in the US Army and was a retired Chicago Fire Department Engineer. Michael is survived by his wife, Michelle (nee Jacobs); his five children, Julie Damasky, Tim (Christine) Hundrieser, Kate (Scott) Fabsits, Greg (Mary) Hundrieser, and Daniel Hundrieser; eleven grandchildren, Tyler (Eli), Josh (Emma), Abagail, Cassie, Connor, Carah, Charlotte, Clare, Cameron, Owen and Mikayla; as well as his siblings, John (Trudy), Paul (Christa), Mary Anne (Larry), and sister in laws, Janice, Karen, and Dana; he was brother-in-law and uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Hundrieser and Anne Hundrieser (nee Collins); son in law, Todd Damasky; grandson, Christopher Fabsits; and his siblings, Donald (Jackie), Pat (Karen), Edwin (Janice), Jimmy, and David (Dana). Michael was a kind and friendly man who was first to offer his help. He was a saver, one being his collection of screws, nails, nuts, and bolts all in specific jars. He had many different items that helped in his solutions to repair things, a true "Rube Goldberg". He spent hours in his garage workshop with WGN talk radio keeping him informed. He was a talented artist with a creative mind, even building funny items to make us laugh. He was a loving and true family man who showed up for all of us and left our family with wonderful, fun, and happy memories. He will be cherished and missed always. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, from 11am-12pm at Olson Burke-Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6771 N Northwest Hwy, Chicago, IL 60647, with a service to celebrate his life to follow at 12pm.

Phyllis Marie Spiegel-Hopkins was the beloved wife of Daniel; loving daughter of the late Joseph and late Marie Spiegel., and leaves behind a sister. She was a retired Chicago Police Officer (2010) and teacher. Phyllis will be buried Thursday, December 14, 2023 at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois. The service will be at 10:00 am. WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE!

The City of Chicago, in partnership with New Life Centers, is hosting a Winter Clothing Drive to support the many men, women and children the city has welcomed this year. You can share in this humanitarian effort by doing one of the following: 1) Place new or gently used items (i.e. coats, boots, gloves, scarves, hats or blankets) in the bins located in the lobby of Public Safety Headquarters. 2) Donate directly to the Amazon Wish List on Chicago. gov/support. 3) Drop-off new items at New Life Center’s Warehouse at 4401 W. Ogden from Monday-Friday, 8am5pm or gently used items at Cradles to Crayons locations across the city. (Visit cradlestocrayons.org for locations) New Life Centers will be picking-up items from the bins on the following dates: 10, and 17 December.
