Janice Tillman Kurland, of Palos Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of Joseph G. Kurland for 54 years. Loving mother of Kristin (James) Grabowski, Kathryn (Todd) Lense, and Karen Kurland. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Anna, Owen, Ashley, and the late Madison. Visitation Sunday, November 5th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Monday, November 6th starting with Chapel Prayers at 9:15 A.M. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to St. Alexander Catholic Church, 7025 W. 126th Street, Palos Heights, for a 10:00 A.M. Laurence G. Youngbloom, born December 25th 1942, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 after being surrounded by family. Laurence was married to his high-school sweetheart Sandra Youngbloom and from that union came Lisa and then Eric. Laurence also known as Butch to family and friends was a devoted husband of almost 60 years and wonderful loving father. He proudly served in the Marines and protected the streets of Chicago for many years as a Chicago police officer where he later retired. Laurence was also a member of Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge No. 7 and Office of Emergency Management & Communications. He will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sandra Youngbloom, Daughter Lisa Cohs (Son-In-Law Dave Cohs), Granddaughter Valerie Cohs, Grandson Dylan Cohs, Son Eric Youngbloom (Daughter-In-Law Robin Youngbloom), Granddaughter Ashleigh Youngbloom, Sister Karen Stetina (Late Brother-In-law Kenneth Stetina) Nephew Kent Stetina, Niece Karrie Stetina Hasche, Robert Sloan Brother-in-law (Cathy Sloan) and Niece Samantha Sloan. Hello everyone! Hope you all had a pleasant Halloween and are enjoying the brisk fall weather (yes that' sarcasm) and are looking forward to a very happy and joyous Thanksgiving.

This Tuesday the 7th of November at 0900 Hours is the Northside Retiree Breakfast. We are continuing to hold it at D'Agastino's 7530 W Oakton in Niles. They are opening early just for us, come out and meet up with friends, make new ones and enjoy a morning out.

Knights denied parole for killing Severin & Rizzato!

Great news! The Board denied parole for Knights with a vote of 11-1. The Board also granted a 5-year set, so this case will not be heard again until 2027.
