Mark Scheithauer, age 70, of Chicago sadly but peacefully departed from us on September 7th of 2023 after a long battle with lymphoma. Mark was proud to serve the City of Chicago as a Police Officer for 37 years. He retired with the rank of Captain. He brought lots of laughter and wisdom wherever he went. He is survived by his wife and child, his father, two brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly. Services and interment private. Police Officer Nathaniel L. Taylor Jr. Star #6444 All radio zones will observe a 30 second period of radio silence Today, 28 September 2023 at 1200 hours. This is in honor of Police Officer Nathaniel L. Taylor Jr. #7322, assigned to the Organized Crime Division Unit 189, who was shot and killed in the line-of-duty at 1802 hours on 28 September 2008 in the 004th District.

Bonfire social will be held after Mass with pizza and drinks at St. John Cantius Church. St. John’s is located at 825 N. Carpenter St.
