Terry Biebel! The Biebel Family is grateful to the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club for honoring our late sister, Terry Biebel, a retired Chicago Police Officer who dedicated her life to ‘walking the beat’ of the streets of her police district helping protect her community. The Teresa ‘Terry’ Biebel Service Above Self Award recognizes the outstanding contributions that women have made in the public sector. The 2023 award is presented to Sara Herman, a disabled US Army veteran, single mother raising 2 children. Congrats to Sara! Additionally, our family will be hosting an ‘In Memory of Terry’ event:
Saturday, May 6, 2023 from Noon - 3 pm. The Irish Heritage Center, McGinty Room, 4626 N Knox, Chicago.

Virginia Ellen Grosh, nee Bosgraaf, passed away on April 1, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Eugene. Loving Mother of Daniel Grosh (Ret. Lt. CFD), Gerald J. (the late Virginia "Ginger" Grosh, Jeanne Marie (Dr. David) Powers, Richard Grosh, the late Anthony (Joann) Grosh and the late Michael Matthew Grosh. Devoted Grandmother of Nicole, Daniel, Matthew and Josh Grosh, Amanda Ramos, Laura Langley, Michael, Patrick, Mary, and Thomas Powers. Great-grandmother of Collin Grosh, Isabella, Valesh, Daenerys, Tyger and Rinoa Grosh, Alexander Ramos and Eleanor Langley. She was employed for 25 years at Mercy Hospital as a Supply Specialist and a Yoga instructor. Active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Maurice location). She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, (April 18, 2023) from 3-8pm and Wednesday (April 19, 2023) from 9 am. Until 10:30 am Service, at Wollschlager Funeral Home, 3604 S. Hoyne Ave. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Darold Wayne Olson "Ole", age 87, of Evanston, IL formerly of Door County, WI passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Barbara Olson nee Malone, Loving father of Dennis Olson, Daniel (Keely) Olson, Lance (Sue) Olson, and Loren Olson. Proud grandfather Kelsey (Kyle) Becich, Kathleen (Tim) Hinkley, Karley Olson, Cassie Olson, Anissa Olson; great-grandfather of Liam and Reese Becich, Jack and Amy Hinkley "Ole" was born August 6, 1935, in Sister Bay, Wisconsin to Clifford and Luella Olson nee Knutson. He attended Gibraltar High School, Fish Creek, WI. Darold spent 27 years serving the Evanston community as a firefighter and on his time off, mastering his craft in carpentry earning the title of Journeyman Carpenter. Outside of work, Darold enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing, camping, hunting, and fishing, he was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Visitation, Friday, April 21, 2023, 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 am at Saint John XXIII Parish, Saint Mary's Church, 1012 Lake Avenue and Oak Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201. Beverly B. Smulevitz, nee Adler, age 73, Beloved wife of Leslie Smulevitz. Loving mother of Shanti (Tony) Duncan and Cara (Christopher Tucker) Smulevitz. Proud grandmother of Tanyon Duncan and Lena Duncan. Dear sister of Michael Adler (of blessed memory). Fond aunt of Tina Adler, Richard Adler, Avner Gilead, Danny Smulevitz, Amanda Smulevitz, Shoshana Emanuel, Rahm Emanuel, Ariel Emanuel, Ezekiel Emanuel, Zita Lazar, Cleo Brodsky, Frank Brodsky, Teddy Brodsky, Gary Brodsky (of blessed memory) and Anne Brodsky. Beverly passed away peacefully on April 13th. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and the caretaker of many spoiled and much-loved dogs. She was ambitious and quick-witted, and valued her career as a specialist in Cardiac Ultrasound. She was a published author in her field of research, and she also wrote a mystery novel (and read many hundreds of mystery novels). Her friends admired her unique perspective and her sense of humor. Dear CPD AZ Retiree,

PLEASE READ THIS AND RESPOND TO ME IF YOU ARE COMING. I NEED A HEAD COUNT FOR THE RESTAURANT. RESPOND NO LATER THAN TUESDAY BY NOON! I only need to know those that are coming.

Our monthly luncheon this month is on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the EAGLE BUFFET AT CASINO ARIZONA, 524 N. 92nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, right off the 101 & 202 at McKellips. The buffet does not open until 11:00 AM. We will check-in at 11:00 AM. Stay in the right line, and please identify yourself that you are with the CPD AZ Retiree Luncheon group. Laura Peterson, the food service manager, is our contact person. She is doing a great job to accommodate our group. They will try to get us through the line and be seated quickly. We will be in the rear room if it is available. We will be trying to do the luncheons on THE THIRD WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.
