Joseph J. Andruzzi, 81, of Huntley, died April 21, 2022. Joseph was born November 8, 1940, the son of Joseph and Bertha Andruzzi. He served in the United States Marine Corp. as a Staff Sgt. and was a Vietnam Vet. In the Marines is where he met the love of his life, Mary M. Carini. The couple married on June 30, 1961. Joseph went on to serve as a Chicago Police Officer until his retirement in 2002. He was a great storyteller and never knew a stranger. He was active in the Toys for Tots and enjoyed his breakfast club with other retired police officers. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary, his children, Mary (Jeff) Richman, Joseph Jr, (Dari) Andruzzi, Michelle (Mark) Riemer, and Michael (Mari) Andruzzi, by his nine grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica (Billy), Zachary, Michael, Rebecca, Claudia (Aly), Anthony, Charlie, and Victoria, by his sisters, Helen Socko, Diane Shutack and brother, Robert Andruzzi. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Joanne Kupchinski, and brother, Paul Andruzzi. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois a second visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the 10:00am Mass all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Chicago Police Department Memorial Foundation. Juanita "Sis" Heber nee McDade, 95, at rest April 19, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Heber; loving mother to the late Jerry EFD (Paulette), Jamie (Cathy) and Jody (Mike) Abad; nine grandchildren - Sean (Jenny), Amy, Cara (Dave) Crews, Corey (Colleen) Abad, Matt (Alicia), Chad (Kailey), Ryan (Helen) Abad, Brett (Molly), Jarret (Larissa), and Elly (Brian) Jarvis; and eighteen great-grandchildren - Nolan, Emelia, Dylan, Madison, Avery, Carter, Braiden, Stella, Nia, Louis, Hannalee, Jonathan, Charlotte, Olivia, Isabelle, Fitzpatrick, Harper and Emmanuel; fond sister to Wilber ,Eugene, Marianne, John, Donald, Terry, Patricia Price, Kathleen (Bill) Flowers, and Michael; aunt to many fond nieces and nephews. Graciano Ortega Jr. age 71. Husband to Norine K. Ortega. Loving father to Tyra Cox, Carrie Pique, John Ortega, James Ortega, Leonard Ortega, Kenton Ortega and Rachel Ortega. Grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Cherished brother to Martha Ogg, Eva Kengott, and Louis Escobar. Graciano lived a fulfilling life, he gave 10 years of service to the Chicago Police Department and over 35 years of devotion to his students at the Chicago Public School district, where he worked as a teacher and ultimately a school principal. Graciano had humble beginnings being born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and raised by a single mother. He worked hard to achieve his many successes in life. He had a passion for education, achieving 2 masters degrees. He passed away on April 21st 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He will be dearly missed. James E. "Jim" Sakola, age 59, Active Chicago Police Officer with Area 3 Technology Center, passed away suddenly on March 26, 2022. Beloved husband for 21 years to Katherine Stack. Devoted son of the late Ronald and Frances (nee Beluschek) Sakola. Loving brother of Jon Sakola. Rosaria Angelina Wilhelmi "Angie," nee Zucchero, faithful follower of Jesus Christ and loving wife of Thomas R. Wilhelmi Jr. and a committed mom to Tom's children, who affectionately referred to her as Momma A, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 15, 2022, at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Despite the effects of her illness, she continued to engage, love, smile and live her faith until her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, Rocco Zucchero, and her mother, Rosaria (Patellaro) Zucchero of Palermo, Italy. She is survived by her brother, Rocco (Patty) Zucchero of Woodridge; nephew, Rocco F. Zucchero (fiancee Gianna Fazio) of Carol Stream, stepnieces and nephew, Maryanne Zucchero, Christine (Mike) Bezanes, Rosie (Joe) Pope and Rocco (Esther) Assise; and daughters, Rachel Wilhelmi of Morris and Sophia Wilhelmi of Minooka. Angie grew up in Chicago and was in the travel industry until her childhood dream of being a police officer came to fruition. Affectionately known as "Officer Angie," she passionately and faithfully served the citizens of Burr Ridge on the Burr Ridge Police Department for twenty-five years. Angie LOVED being a police officer. Officer Wilhelmi was instrumental in researching and developing the department's DARE program, Citizen's Police Academy and many other community outreach programs. She served as DuPage County Juvenile Officer's Association President in 2009 and 2010. As a highly decorated officer, in 1992 Officer Angie received the Award of Valor from the Hundred Club of DuPage County, the Valor Award by the DuPage County Police Association and the Chief's Award of Valor by Burr Ridge. She was recognized by the Illinois DARE Officer's Association as "Officer of the Year" in 2007. Angie met the love of her life, Tom, while attending Westbrook Christian Church in Bolingbrook. They were married there in 2014. After retiring in 2015, Angie and Tom decided to follow God's calling by moving to Indianapolis, IN. They had a passion for bringing people together to make provisions for their friends who were less fortunate by providing hot meals and other essentials. They partnered with Greenwood Christian Church and Tear Down the Walls Ministries by supplying hot meals and other needs to the streets of Indianapolis. Angie and Torn moved back to Chicagoland in 2021 after Angie was diagnosed with cancer. Services will be private but will be live streamed. Email Tom Wilhelmi at mugsyloans@yahoo.com to get the link. MEETING NOTICE

The Hellenic American Police Association (HAPA) is a not-for[1]profit police ethnic association, recognized by the CPD as a police ethnic association. The HAPA was founded by Elias Voulgaris (Chicago PD) to represent law enforcement officers of Hellenic heritage, including Greek Cypriots. The goal of the HAPA is to gather all who are of Hellenic heritage in order to maintain our proud careers, rich and proud heritage, culture, traditions, and Greek Cypriot upbringing, as well as our Greek Orthodox faith, while celebrating each other’s fellowship. We are one of four such associations; the others being the St. Paul’s Society of the NYPD, the Metropolitan Police Service Greek & Cypriot Association (MPS GCA) of London’s Metropolitan Police Service, and the Hellenic Police Association of the Victoria, Australia Police with whom we maintain brotherly ties. All law enforcement officers, active or retired from any law enforcement agency or department are invited and welcome to join the Hellenic American Police Association. General Membership Meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month at 1930 hrs. at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2701 N. Sheffield Ave. For further information, contact Cmndr.
