Martin (Marty) McDonnell, age 72, of Tinley Park, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. Martin was born January 4th, 1950 in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland to the late Ellen (Gleeson) and Michael A. McDonnell. In passing, he now joins his two late brothers, Michael (Partricia) McDonnell and John McDonnell, and is survived by his two sisters, Anne (Vincent) Livak and Josephine (Robert) Meyer. Martin McDonnell was the adored father of his two children, Sara and Martin and will be in their hearts forever. Martin will also be survived by his former wife and long time friend, Sharon. He had many nieces and nephews whom he was very proud of and he greatly loved them all. Martin had friends all over, and a great social life that was full of laughter and jokes that will surely be missed. Martin was a veteran of the United States Army and a 32-year-member of the Chicago Police Department. Marty McDonnell will always be remembered as a great man, father, and friend. Visitation for Marty will be from 3-8 PM on Thursday, April 21, at Andrew J McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S Pulaski, Chicago. Funeral to begin at 9:15 AM on Friday, April 22, at Andrew J McGann & Son proceeding to St. Barnabas Church, 10134 S Longwood, Chicago, for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment private.

Mary C. Springer (nee Edmunds), beloved wife of the late Ronald C. Springer (CPD). Loving mother of Timothy (Michele) Springer & Catherine Springer Murphy (Christopher Polanski). Eternally proud grandmother of Megan Springer, Connor Murphy, Katharine Springer and Matthew Springer. Devoted daughter of the late Herbert and Bonnie M. Edmunds. Big sister to the late Sharon (the late Robert CPD) Murray, Herbert (Carol) Edmunds and Janet (the late Sean) O’Connell. Aunt to wonderful nieces and nephews and cherished friend to many. Devoted to God & the Blessed Mother and firm believer in the power of prayer. Visitation to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edward Church, 4350 W. Sunnyside. A mass in celebration of her life will begin at 10:30 am. There is a handicap accessible entrance on the northeast corner on the east side of the building, an elevator is available if needed. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Notre Dame College Prep Burke Scholars Program (Niles, IL).
