Richard R. Pikul, age 82. U.S. Army Veteran of Arkdale, Wisconsin. Retired Auxiliary Police Officer of the town of Cicero, Illinois. Passed away June 11, 2025 with the love and support of his family and friends. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Visitation Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. with a Funeral Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m. at the Richard-Midway Funeral Home, 5749 Archer Ave. (Corner of Lorel). Anne Barbara Troy passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 after a serious illness. She was born on March 8, 1960, to Richard J. and Barbara (nee Bieszczat) Troy. Anne graduated from Immaculata High School, then received a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. After completing her degrees, Anne worked as a Marketing Research manager and as an independent consultant with various firms. She was active in Harvard and Radcliffe alumni clubs in Chicago, serving as Club Secretary for many years as well as a Radcliffe College Alumni Association (RCAA) Regional Representative. It was when she was volunteering at a Harvard Club event that she met her future husband, Shu Yan Chan, a Harvard Club Board of Directors member. Anne and Shu married on May 25, 1991, and settled in the Rogers Park neighborhood. On New Year’s Day 1997, they welcomed their daughter Kay Kay (Katherine). Anne was very involved with the St. Jerome Parish, being a longtime member of the choir; coordinating the St. Joseph Day feast for many years; as well as organizing and cooking the weekly community free lunch. Other volunteering included participating on the CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) program for the 24th District. An exceptionally accomplished cook and baker, Anne had many signature dishes that were requested by family and friends alike. Her chef father-in-law always loved when Anne would host a holiday dinner. She also enjoyed her home garden and sitting on the front porch of her home, talking to neighbors passing by. Preceded in death by her parents, Anne is survived by her beloved husband Shu Yan Chan; daughter Kay Kay Chan; 5 brothers and sisters (Rich, John, Matt, Betsy, Maria) as well as many nephews, nieces, other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th, 2025, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, with the Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 AM at St. Jerome Parish, 1709 W. Lunt Avenue, Chicago, IL 60626. Parking is available in the lot on Morse Avenue immediately southeast of Paulina Avenue and adjacent to New Field Elementary School. A burial will follow the Mass at Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, IL 60660.

CPD FATHERS' DAY MASS AT GOLD STAR FAMILIES’ MEMORIAL AND PARK 10:00 A.M. SUNDAY, 15 JUNE 2025.

All active and retired CPD members, Gold Star Families, Chaplains Ministry supporters, and their families are welcome...as is the public. Mass will be finished by 10:30 for the sake of on-duty worshipers on their lunch break.

While this is a Catholic Mass, ALL are welcome to honor dads/grandfathers/father figures whose names are permanently inscribed on the walls of the CPD memorial.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket...and a picnic lunch if you'd like to stick around.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, call Fr. Dan Brandt, directing CPD Chaplain, at 773-550-2369 for status. Ample free parking is available on Special Olympics Drive (formerly Museum Campus Drive), adjacent to the park. Uniformed CPD officers will direct you.

The CFD 5-11 canteen will be on hand providing water, Gatorade, coffee and snacks, and the mounted unit horses will be looking forward to seeing you as well.

VIRTUAL NO COP OUTS (NCO) AA MEETING!

The Drug and Alcohol Section of the Professional Counseling Division will host a virtual No Cop Outs (NCO) / AA meeting via Zoom on Saturday, 14 June 2025 from 1000 - 1100 hours. No Cop Outs is a meeting place for police officers experiencing difficulties in their lives or those looking to make changes due to alcohol and related addictions. Everyone is welcome at No Cop Outs, regardless of rank, gender, race, or religion. Attendance at a No Cop Outs meeting is entirely voluntary and confidential. There are no records of attendance or membership, and members share only what they wish to disclose about themselves. By attending a No Cop Outs meeting, you will be offered friendship, understanding, and support from fellow police officers who have walked the walk. Many police officers have turned their lives around by becoming part of No Cop Outs.
