Age 84, of Frankfort passed away at home peacefully on Monday July 27, 2026. Richard was born in Chicago, IL. to the late Bernard and Virginia Hanley.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Annette Hanley, children: Richard Hanley, James Hanley, stepchildren: Jose (Elizabeth) Cabral, Tony (Veronica) Cabral, grandchildren: Aaron Hanley, Jacob Cabral, Luis Cabral, Isaac Cabral, Michael Cabral, siblings: Daniel Hanley, Thomas Hanley, Neil Hanley, William Hanley, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Hanley
Richard was known for his bold spirit and unwavering independence. He lived life entirely on his own terms, never apologizing for being true to himself. His confidence, honesty, and unique personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Richard lived a life defined by service, strength, and authenticity. He proudly served the City of Chicago as a police officer with the Chicago Police Department for 31 years before retiring, dedicating his career to protecting and serving his community with honor.
Outside of his career, Richard had a deep appreciation for old cars. He remained socially active throughout his life, cherishing the friendships and connections he made over the years.
The Hanley Family will receive family and friends for a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. 60423 on Monday August 3, 2026, from 3PM until 8PM. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday August 4, 2026, 10AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, Illinois.

Karen M. Judge (nee Anhock) Age 67
After living with grace, courage, and unwavering love through a nearly five-year battle with lung cancer, Karen M. Judge (nee Anhock), age 67, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband of almost 48 years, William M. Judge (CCSPD Ret.), and her devoted family. They would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 29.
Karen was the beloved daughter of the late Leroy and June (nee Connors) Anhock and the cherished sister of the late Donna, James, the late Michael, John, the late Sharon, and Joseph Anhock.
She was the proud and loving mother of William Jr. (Angelica), Brian (Samantha), Patrick (Veronica), Kelly (Jon), and Colleen (Steve).
Karen was the adored and devoted Grandma of Konner, Kiara, Molly, Jayden, Emily, Cecilia, and Lucia, and she eagerly awaited the arrival of her grandson Ignacio. Her grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life and became one of her greatest sources of strength throughout her journey. Their hugs, laughter, smiles, milestones, and unconditional love filled her heart and brought light to even her most difficult days. Every moment spent with them was treasured, and the love she shared with each of them will remain one of her greatest legacies.
Karen's life was beautifully defined by what her family affectionately called her five "F's": Family, Friends, Flowers, Food, and Fun. Those weren't simply the things she loved—they were the values by which she lived. She treasured time with family and friends, and her dinner table was always filled with delicious food, heartfelt conversation, laughter, and love. She found joy in tending to her garden, creating beautiful floral arrangements, and decorating her home, making every room feel warm, welcoming, and inviting. Karen had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family, and her greatest happiness came from creating lasting memories with the people she loved most.
The Judge family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and especially the infusion staff at the St. George Cancer Institute in Orland Park. Their extraordinary compassion, unwavering dedication, and exceptional care throughout Karen's nearly five-year journey brought comfort not only to Karen, but to our entire family.
The care Karen received was made even more meaningful because her daughter, Kelly, had the privilege of caring for her mother as both a devoted daughter and a member of the St. George team. To witness a daughter lovingly care for her mother, surrounded by colleagues who treated Karen with such kindness, compassion, dignity, and love, was a blessing our family will forever cherish. We will always be grateful for the friendship, encouragement, and unwavering support shown by every member of the St. George Cancer Institute.
Karen will be remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She taught us that life is measured not by the years we are given, but by the love we share, the memories we create, and the lives we touch. Although her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love will continue to live on through her family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Karen believed that life was best lived surrounded by the people you love, gathered around a full table, with fresh flowers nearby and always room for one more. That love will forever remain the heart of her family.
