Ervin Black, age 82, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Blackie passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the age of 82 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marcia Black of 48 years. Whom he now embraces again in eternal peace. He is survived by his loving daughter Kristen Kampert (Michael Kampfert, CFD) and his grandchildren Bridget, Benjamin, Bradley, and his bonus granddaughter Amanda Lindenberg. He was a caring uncle and Godfather to many. Blackie was born in Muncie, Indiana. He was an Army Veteran, Airborne 8th Infantry Division. He also served as military police in Germany after a tour in Vietnam. He is recognized as "Ervin from Berwyn" the "Famous Hairdresser". He is best remembered by his generosity, loving nature, and humor. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service for Ervin "Blackie" will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Edward R. Clohessy, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23 in Long Beach, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife Judith and is survived by his wife Mary. Edward was a devoted father to Jeffrey (Kathryn) and Sharon (the late Albert Dalto); a proud grandfather of Matthew (Colleen), Daniel (Samantha), and Lauren; and a loving great-grandfather to Sadie, Maeve, and Daphne. Edward dedicated 60 years to the Village of Evergreen Park. He served in the Fire Department for 42 of those years, including 9 years as Fire Chief. He will be remembered for his commitment, courage, and integrity. Janet Mary Tipperreiter, age 78, left our hands to join her beloved husband Deacon Charles W. Tipperreiter in God’s loving arms on October 22, 2025. Cherished sister of Mike (Cynthia) Puttin and Judy (the late Bob) Scheuring; loving stepmother of Debbie (Charlie) Kandefer; and dear sister-in-law of Bill (Linda) Tipperreiter. Loving aunt to Michael K. (Colleen) Puttin, Kevin (Molly) Puttin, Jennifer Puttin, Richard (Michelle) Scheuring, the late Susan Scheuring, Amanda (Kevin) Spencer, Melissa Tipperreiter, DeAnna Tipperreiter, and Olivia Tipperreiter. She was a proud grandmother to Adam (Tianna) Kandefer, Rebecca (Cody) Dietrich, and Rachel Kandefer, and a devoted great-grandmother to Sophia Kandefer, who brought her endless smiles and joy. Janet was a devoted great-aunt to Josh (Katie), Caitlin, Emily (Jeff), Anna (Jake), Collin, Matthew Puttin, Brett Puttin, Leah Puttin, Flynn Puttin, Lilli Puttin, Kate Puttin, Madison Spencer, Emma Spencer, Bryce Tipperreiter, Timothy McCammond, Oliver McCammond, and Greyson Gajardo; and a loving great-great-aunt to Ava Grace, Lilo, Eryn, Zoey, and Everett, who is expected to arrive in November. Janet was preceded in death by her parents Gustav and Marie Puttin, her brother Joseph Puttin, and her loving husband Charles, with whom she shared fifty years of faith, laughter, and devotion. A woman of deep faith, Janet was known for her kindness, humility, and steadfast commitment to her parish. She was an active member of the St. Fabian Women’s Club and St. Fabian Seniors, served faithfully as a lector, and spent many peaceful hours in prayer at the Adoration Chapel. Her quiet strength, generosity, and devotion to others reflected her deep love for God and her community. Lying in state Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Fabian Church, 8300 S. Thomas Ave., Bridgeview, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
