Larry was a proud B.O.B. member and an active member of the 12-Step Fellowship. Jeanne Elizabeth Poore (née Johnson), aged 81, passed away, surrounded by her family, on September 7, 2025, at her home in Crestwood, IL, after a 20 year battle with COPD. Born on May 21, 1944, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Chicago, IL, to William Andrew Paul Johnson and Jeanne Thorne Schmidt. Jeanne spent her formative years as a Girl Scout leader and played the flute for her school band. She attended Foster Park Elementary School, and Calumet High School, later furthering her education at Chicago Teachers College. Jeanne dedicated many years to her career as a paralegal at CT Corporation, and she was also an active member and trustee at the Chicago South Elks Lodge #1596. After retiring, she ran a successful crochet business, Poore House Crafts, with her daughter, Tracy. She will be remembered for her love of butterflies, indulging in Baileys, and frozen chocolates from Dunkin Donuts, critiquing the latest hit tv series, and hanging out with her good friends at the weekly Bingo games at the Elks Club. She is survived by her devoted children, Tracy (Dennis, CFD) Crosse of Chicago, and Richard (Megan) Poore of Palos Park; her beloved grandchildren, Cara and Robby Crosse, and Will, Grace, Ben, and James Poore—who all affectionately call her "Mickey". Jeanne was preceded in death by her longtime love, Glen Alan Forbes, who preceded her in death in 2005; her parents, William Andrew Paul Johnson in 1982 and Jeanne Thorne Schmidt in 1996; as well as her older brother, William Robert Johnson in 2018. A service to celebrate Jeanne's life will be held at Brady-Gill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, from 4pm - 8pm on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Tinley Park, IL. Funeral services will start at 11am on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Evergreen Park, IL. Jeanne will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to her family and community, and her passion for the simple joys in life. “Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, and now she has wings of a butterfly."
