Richard C. Larson, age 82, beloved husband of the late Cheryl, loving father of Robert (Toni) Larson and Karl (Lori) Larson. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Keri, Saira, Reece, and Ruth. Dear brother of the late Beverly Lambros, Donna (Birch) Day, and Marian Werner. Beloved brother-in-law of Ralph and Debbie Oster. Loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Richard also became a strong father figure and Papa to others. Richard grew up in Riverdale, IL, and after graduating from Mendel Catholic High School, he enlisted in the Air Force. He then went on to serve 30 years with the Cook County Sheriff's Department in the role of patrolman and various specialty units. Resting at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230, Dixie Highway in Homewood on Sunday September 7, 2025, from 1pm – 5pm. Funeral service Monday September 8, 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the 100 Club of Illinois, which supports families of fallen first responders, would be appreciated. Funeral Monday, September 8th, 9:00 am from the funeral home to St. Cajetan Church 2445 W. 112th St. Chicago for Mass at 10:00 am.
