Michael Charles Gacki was born in Chicago on August 8, 1958. He passed peacefully at home on July 20, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Peggy (née Greco), with whom he shared 36 wonderful years together. Cherished father of Johnny Manzella, Nicole (Matt) Spooner, Meggie (Jon) Lowell, Michael Gacki, and Daniel (Meghan) Manzella. Adored grandfather of David, Mae, Anthony, John, Daniella, Michael, Natalie, and Norah. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father Arnold Gacki; his brothers Robert Gacki and James Gacki; his sister Laurie Gacki; and his in-laws Mary Kay Greco (John Famera), Joseph (Dorothy) Greco, and Linda (Daniel) Famera. He was preceded in death by his mother Delores Gacki; and his brothers-in-law Johnny Greco and Danny Boy. As a third generation Chicago Firefighter, Michael Charles Gacki joined the department in 1983. He rose through the ranks to become Battalion Chief of the 17th Battalion in the Old 5th District. He later served as Vice President of Chicago’s Bravest Credit Union. He was a proud member and the retired President of the Chicago Fire Officers’ Association Credit Union. Michael C.
