Norleen S. Andersen (née Shule), age 73, late of Cedar Lake, Indiana, formerly of Burnham and Chicago (East Side), Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved mother of Bryan (Amy) Comparon, Nichole (Andrew) Claussen, and Brett Andersen. Cherished grandmother of Bryan Comparon II, Peyton Comparon, Elliott Comparon, Meghan Granter, Connor Granter, and Ian Vinson. Dearest sister of Kirk (Candy) Shule and Terry (Thomas) Panozzo. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Shule. Norleen proudly served as a 911 dispatcher for several municipalities throughout South Cook County, dedicating many years of her life to her career. Norleen was also a passionate and competitive poker player. She found great joy and camaraderie within her poker community, forming lifelong friendships at the table. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM until the time of closing prayers at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Chapel – Cedar Lake, 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way, Cedar Lake, Indiana 46303. ALEX M. DENMAN Age 34, of Mokena, formerly of New Lenox, passed away Friday, July 4th, 2025 at his home in Mokena. Alex is survived by his loving family, wife, Katherine Denman (Muraida), daughter, Aurora Denman, mother, Deborah Denman (Anderson), brother, AJ (Kelly) Denman, nieces, Aubrey Denman and Perry Skinner. Alex was preceded in death by his father, James A. Denman IV. Alex was a Police Officer in Homewood and an avid Chicago Bears fan. He greatly enjoyed traveling; his favorite vacations included an Alaskan cruise and hiking in Moab UT. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Monday, July 7th, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Beloved husband of 52 years to Jean (nee Meagher); Loving Dad of John (Tina) Dorris, Kathleen (Brian) Sendt, and Kelly (David) Navarro; Proud Grandpa of Matthew and Abigal Dorris, Alexis Navarro and Maxwell Sendt. Nick P. Marino, 96, late of Tinley Park, formerly of Chicago (South Chicago). Retired C.F.D. and US Army Veteran Korean War. Beloved son of his late parents, Samuel and Benedicta (nee Bogdan). Loving husband of 67 years of Barbara (nee Barbich). Devoted father of; Paul, Beth, James, and Steven. Loving brother of his 7 late siblings. Dearest grandfather of 9. Dearest great-grandfather of 8. Fond uncle and friend of many. Nick had a true love for the Chicago Fire Dept. He was an avid tennis player, and played well into his 80’s, winning several medals. He had a love for the Chicago White Sox and cheered for any opponent of the Chicago Cubs. Nick was also a huge Notre Dame football fan. He was a season ticket holder, never missing a home game in over 40 years. He loved to attend parties and was proud to be the “last to leave”. Nick was also very proud of his Croatian heritage. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 9th at 10:00am, St. George. Interment Holy Cross, Calumet City. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nick’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Chicago Fire Dept. Widows and Orphans Fund appreciated.
