Robert Fryc.png

Robert J. Fryc, 43, of Cary, IL and previously Arlington Heights, IL was born August 31, 1981, in Chicago, IL. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Western Illinois University with the dream of working as a law enforcement officer. He tragically passed away the morning of February 16, 2025, while on his way to serve the Village of Glenview, where he had been a police officer for almost 18 years. Rob was the beloved husband of Lauren M. (nee Lazzara) whom he married on September 12, 2015. Treasured grandson of Maria and the late Stanley Fryc and the late Jan and Zofia Konop, cherished son of Joseph & Joanna, adored son-in-law to Joe & Karen, honored brother-in-law to Anthony, Leianne (Mike) Skodacek, caring Uncle to Max, dearest brother of Thomas (Colleen) Fryc, and Uncle & Godfather to Madelyn who called him “Uncle RaRa”. Rob had many passions and even more hobbies; from spending summer times with his dear wife and family in Michigan - where he always let Josie run free; early morning couch stints watching Premier League, he enjoyed trying new restaurants just as much as he loved the same old dive bar; when it came time for a late start to his morning shift, he would never pass up stopping by his mom & dad’s for some jajko, bacon, and shooting the breeze. Rob was full of life, energy, and made all those around him laugh with the most ridiculous idiosyncrasies that only those that knew him – knew about. Rob was often described as the “glue” to every friend group that he was associated with whether it was his brothers in blue, his fraternity brothers from WIU, or the groups of friends that became his brothers and family along the way. Rob had a heart for others, he would physically give you the shirt off his back, and he lived by the words, “You’ll never walk alone.” We love you and we miss you. End of Watch #141, February 16, 2025 Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025, 3pm to 8pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
