Since its establishment in 2000, the Peer Support Program has been a resource to provide assistance in times of need for Active and Retired Department members and their families. Certified Peers have completed a 40-hour training and their conversations are protected by confidentiality under State Law 5 ILCS 840, First Responders Suicide Prevention Act. In order to find out who Peers are in your Unit or District, navigate to the Peer Support Dashboard by going to the Wire - EAP - Peer Support and logging in with your PC# and password. Active and Retired Peers, as well as Therapy Dog services, are on call and available 24/7 and can be reached by calling the Professional Counseling Division number at 312-743-0378.
