Lawrence Joseph “Joe” Beyke, 81, passed away on February 3, 2025. Joe was born December 29, 1943, to Marvin and Vilena (Sutliff) Beyke, in Aurora, Illinois. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Donna Neill, on October 6, 1962. He is a 1961 graduate of Marmion Military Academy. He is a retired Aurora, Illinois Police Officer. Joe is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Michal Ann Beyke, and Gina (Michael) Read, grandsons Joseph and Connor, granddaughter, Donovan, sisters Barbara (Scott) Theede and Bonnie (Jerry) Wills, in-laws Sharron Burke, Shaela (Norm) Arrowsmith, Cindy Butler, Dan (Lynn) Neill, Doug (Lynn) Neill, several nieces and nephews, and all of his many friends from Aurora and new friends from Sandwich. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bert Martin, baby brother James, grandparents Hiram and Kitty Sutliff and Bonifas and Dora Beyke, his mother-in-law, Marilyn Hoffman, father-in-law, Don Neill, brothers-in-law Dave Neill, Jim Burke, Vern Butler, and several nephews. Private services will be held on February 7, 2025. Donations may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich, or St. Vincent de Paul/St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Hon. Sheila M. Murphy, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at Smith Village in Chicago’s Beverly area. Sheila was born on August 18, 1937, and grew up in Colorado Springs. Sheila graduated from St. Mary’s High School, and earned her B.A. from Marquette University. She married the love of her life, Patrick Charles Racey on August 6th, 1960, and then earned her law degree from DePaul University. She worked from 1971-1978 in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, then in private practice for 1978-1989 when she was elected Judge of the Circuit Court. In 1992, she was the first woman to be appointed presiding Judge of a municipal district in Cook County. Retiring from the bench in 1999, Sheila later began teaching restorative justice at UIC (John Marshall Law School). Sheila received countless awards for her charitable work in restorative justice and helped edit two books on the subject. Throughout her life she fought for women’s rights, worked against the death penalty, introduced restorative justice across the legal field and in CPS, and was a 47-year friend of Bill W. She is a past president of the Lawyers Assistance Program. She received multiple honors from the Illinois Bar and Chicago Bar Associations throughout her career. Daughter of the late Gertrude and Martin J. Murphy. Beloved wife of Patrick Racey. Loving mother of Deacon Patrick Murphy-Racey (Ellie), and Brigid Tonia (Bob) Wolff. Cherished Grandma of Dr. Sophie (Clayton) Reindl, Colin, Ian, and Maeve Wolff, Patrick Daniel Racey, and Brendan Wolff, and great grandma to Elijah Clayton Reindl. Dear sister of (the late) Eamon “Eddie”, Charles (Mary Lou), John (Mary Kay), and Dr. Martin J. (Ann) Murphy, Jr. Devoted aunt to 19 nieces & nephews. Lorraine E. Rohlfs, née Killian, age 94, was raised in the Gage Park neighborhood with her three siblings, Edgar, Mildred and Ronnie. She graduated from Luther Institute and worked in the Lyric Opera building as a key punch operator. Lorraine married Raymond A. Rohlfs and became a supportive first responder’s (CFD) wife and loving mother to their three children. She was an active member of Gage Park, St. Peter’s, Hope and Christ Lutheran congregations, the Luther High South Guild, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Couple’s Club, Kostner Bunco Club, Lunch Bunch and OWLS Seniors Group. To support her children’s higher education, Lorraine worked at Christ Hospital in the Rose Tree snack bar. God blessed Lorraine with 59 years of marriage with Ray until his passing in 2013. Missing Lorraine with faithful hope are: children Ruth (David) Mills, Raymond (Jo Ann) Rohlfs and David (Tami) Rohlfs; grandchildren Sara and Adam (Eleena), Justus (Lu), Nathan (Courtney), Luke (Sarah), John (Courtnie) and Maria, and Jared (Alyssa) and Jacob (Jamie); great grandchildren Molly and Ruthie Joiner, Jude, Wesley, Lola, Logan, Lucy and Evelina, and Griffin and Hunter, nieces and nephews, neighbors, “pew buddies” and many, many friends. Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be given to Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park, St. Matthew Lutheran Church Soup Kitchen in Chicago or PAWS in Tinley Park. Dennis Warfield Retired CFD, age 83 passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Beloved husband of 55 years to Kathleen Warfield nee Fitzgerald; loving father of Dennis A. (Jennifer) Warfield CFD, Mary T. (Christopher Ballo) Warfield; Cherished Papa of Alexis and Olivia Warfield; Dear brother of Charles (Phyllis) Warfield, Richard (Mary Lou) Warfield Ret. CPD; Fond uncle and cousin of many. Dennis is predeceased by his adoring parents Charles CFD and Catherine Warfield (nee Cutro).
