Beloved husband of 28 years to Kristin (nee Lesch), son Kyle and daughter Chloe; dear brother of Stacia Davis (nee Hild) and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. John and Kristin’s love story, which began at Illinois State University, was a true partnership built on laughter, respect, and an unshakable bond. Together, they raised two children, Chloe and Kyle, who were the center of John’s world. Whether it was traveling the country to watch Chloe play softball or simply watching football with Kyle, John’s priority was always his family. He was a constant presence. Supportive, dependable, and full of love. John Hild graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 1988, then went on to Illinois State University, earning a degree in Criminal Justice. He dedicated his life to protecting and serving his community as a police officer with the Bolingbrook Police Department. He loved being a police officer— the job, the people, and the chance to make a difference in the lives of others. After 28 years of service, he retired in 2020, but his impact was felt by so many throughout his career. Anyone who knew John knew that he could make a friend anywhere. He had a gift for conversation and an uncanny ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger, always taking the time to listen and show kindness to everyone he encountered. From the gym, where he made lasting friendships, to his long career with the police department, John’s warmth and generosity touched countless lives. John’s passing has left a profound emptiness in all of us, but we take comfort in knowing that his love will live on in the many memories he created with each of us.
